Tourism Central Otago (TCO) are continuing with our campaign targeting the Upper North Island and Australia promoting the regions strengths as a cycling and active holiday destination.
Between the start of September and December a range of digital promotions, print articles and consumer events will generate interest and awareness of Central Otago’s range of holiday options.
TCO are seeking your support to develop a 5-7 day prize package to be promoted across these activities in a digital campaign as well as two consumer events, one in Australia (Flight Centre Cycle Epic & Trail Runs) and one in New Zealand (Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge).
These events attract active travellers with disposable income, those who enjoy cycling, running and mountain biking. Additionally the prize package will be promoted online through the www.centralotagonz.com website and social media channels increasing the audience even further.

FLIGHT CENTRE CYCLE EPIC, Queensland – September 9/10 2017
Event attracts 2,000 entrants mostly, cyclists and runners from Queensland, NSW, Victoria and South Australia.
TAUPO CYCLE CHALLENGE SPORT & LIFESTYLE EXPO, Taupo – 24th November 2017
The Sport & Lifestyle Expo is held alongside the famous Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge which attracts 7,000 cyclists from Auckland, Tauranga, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch, Australia plus a few other countries.
ONLINE PROMOTIONS – September - December
Competition promoted online via www.centralotagonz.com and Central Otago NZ social media channels.

We would like to develop a prize that highlights the range of active holiday options including our cycling trails and off trail experiences into a 5-7 day trip to Central Otago.
We are seeking support in-kind of product associated with the following:
- Otago Central Rail Trail
- Roxburgh Gorge Trail
- Clutha Gold Trail
- Mountain Bike Trails (Alexandra, Cromwell, Naseby)
- Food & Wine Experiences
- Off trail activities
Accommodation providers, Restaurant/Café owners and Cycle specialists are all invited to participate in this sponsorship opportunity.
In return for sponsorship, TCO can:
- promote your business digitally and to registrants at both events
- promote your business pre and post each event
- take 30-50 of your business brochures to each event
- work together to promote any ‘special offers’ you wish to put in place/promote at these events or via www.centralotagonz.com
